Description

About The Breed

The Bully Kutta, also known as the Indian Mastiff or Pakistani Mastiff is a breed of large working dog originating from the 16th century in the Indian subcontinent. The Bully Kutta is a working dog used to hunt and patrol. The dog breed is common in India and Pakistan’s Punjab region, including Haryana and Delhi. Bully Kutta translates literally into a heavily wrinkled Dog. The word Bully derives from the root word of the Bohli languages Hindi-Urdu and Punjabi, meaning heavily wrinkled and Kutta means dog.

Temperament

The dogs are famous for their strong instinct to guard with an aggressive and protective nature. They can be dangerous to the people who are outside and their owners because of their size and dominance. They aren’t suitable for living in apartments since they require massive space like the courtyard.

Health

The Sindhi Mastiff is a healthy breed of dog that has an extremely low proportion of health problems. The breed is prone to becoming blind and arthritis-prone late in their lives. Because of its size, it can also be afflicted by constipation and other issues such as flea and dental issues as well as heartworms and halitosis.

Grooming

Bully Kutta is a moderate shedder, which means it is a low-maintenance pet that requires periodic brushing using the slicker-type brush. It isn’t necessary to bathe it and a moist towel can be used to clean its dirt. Hair clipping is not advised as it could hinder growth and regrowth, but stripping hair is a great alternative.

Training

Because of the aggressive nature of this breed, they are difficult to train. They’re not the best choice for timid or first-time owners. However, if they are you are able to socialize with them from an early age it is possible to keep the situation managed.

Feeding

The breed is vigorous robust, muscular, and strong. Therefore, it needs food that is rich in nutrients, such as eggshells that are crushed into the diet offered. It is important to give the right amount of food at the right stage. For instance, the Bully Kutta puppy aged between 8-12 weeks old needs daily meals of four and their diet should decrease as they grow older. Likewise, as they grow older They should receive one meal a day that includes 30percent vegetables, 40 percent meat, and 30 percent starch. Make sure that water is available regularly and maintain the hygiene of water by cleaning the water bowls.
