About The Breed

The simple Great Dane, the mighty “Apollo of Dogs,” is an absolute pleasure to have around. But having a dog of this massive size, weight, and strength is a decision to not take without a lot of caution. The breed is truly amazing, but it’s is not an actual Dane.


It is believed that the Great Dane has a shoulder height of 72-80cm (28-31 inches) and weighs at minimum 50 kilograms (110 pounds) and as high as twelve Toy Poodles! Some can weigh as much as 90 kilograms (200 pounds). It is the Great Dane is a giant powerful dog, but with great grace and class. It is a large head with a deep muzzle the pronounced stop (the point where the muzzle and forehead meet) with round eyes and a sharp bite. Great Danes are referred to as the Great Dane has a long powerful neck, strong shoulders with straight forelegs that are muscular, low back, and a high-set, low-set tail.
